Finca Los Geranios’ main house is a family house arranged over two floors: a top floor where you will find most of the rooms and the library, and a lower floor with the other two rooms – the only ones that don’t have an en-suite bathroom – the kitchen, the living room and the outdoor terraces. All wood in the house, including the floor of the upper floor, is tea, which my grandfather, a carpenter, accumulated throughout his life before its extraction was banned. Tea is extracted from pino canario, a pine tree species native of the Canary Islands – this type of wood provides the house with a very special atmosphere.
On the outside of the main house there is a lawn area where you can sit and enjoy the quiet and unforgettable sunsets, and a heated pool for year-round use.
Most of the land in the estate is organized in terraces made with stone walls and planted with fruit trees. Different types of geraniums hang from these stepped stone walls, filling the property with colour when in bloom. This staggering sight inspired the name of the estate – Finca Los Geranios.
The finca also has an area called the bodega, set up to house mass meals. That’s where we all, hosts, friends and visitors, meet and enjoy a paella, a barbecue or grilled vegetables. Any excuse is good enough to share a great time together.
As already mentioned in the “How to get there” section, the property can be easily accessed using public bus services. However, we recommend taking a rental car for further flexibility and mobility within the island. We offer free parking possibilities and the corresponding security measures (the whole property is fenced and it has a gate access, closed for non-visitors).
There is a supermarket a mere 10 minute walk away from the property, and there are some well-priced restaurants not far from it offering traditional local food.
